王金泽 湖南省南方中学   Beautiful are the moments when we are cheering for success, but how grey it is when success is replaced by failure. Expressly, where there is success, there is failure. It is a kind of inevitability. But,” When one door is closed,” as the old saying goes, “another will be open. Most of the time we ignore the open one, for we stares at the closed one too much. “ So I’d like to make an analysis. To start with, let’s put the causes of failure-upset in the first place. Surely, to reach a goal, we’ll all do all we can for we all think that success is so important. Unavoidably, we’ll feel a universe of upsets when failure comes down. Why me? I’ve been so hardworking! So the unacceptance (nonacceptance) when we’ve made so much effort becomes the root reason that shuting (shuts) our doors to success, but to cause pains. For the sadness after failure, I’ve got some advice. First and foremost, you’ve got to know that it’s no use crying over the spilt milk and rise up once again to face the music and get out of the blue. Undoubtedly, success is important and we are born to be successful. But it is not all about success that we’re fighting for. Life is a voyage, (插入and) the scenery along the way is also worth enjoying. Then I’d like to mention that we should find the open door, make effort, and then go into the door. Thinking from another angle, aren’t we reaching the success after failure?      Then I’d like to discuss about the balance between success and failure. Accompanied with success, failure seems to be a child which (who) is out of our plan. So why don’t we call it as a surprise? Surprise brings new comer to our life, like failure, and I always assume that it is the one that gives me the power to go on my journey, for I haven’t gain my success yet. If you comprehend this, then the balance between these two is easy to hold. To summarize, my opinions are quite clear. Success is important but not as water; failure is horrible but not as devil. Absolutely, success-happiness is easier to handle while failure-upset is hard. Above all, I just want to ten that in this long journey, we can always find another open door and we will.

韩金延 北京市中国人民大学附属中学   Thomas Edison, one of the greatest scientists ever happened to (in) the world, had experienced failure many times, more than we can ever think of. In inventing the light bulb, he tried more than 2,000 materials, yet they all failed. Though this might be enough to deprive the hope of success from anyone, it didn’t discourage Edison. He went on trying until he find (found) the right material. He achieved success after thousands of times of failure (failures). In real life, we all have to experience failure. Nobody can be successful all his life without meeting even one downfall. We may feel happy when we succeed and are sad when we fail. However, the important thing is that we shouldn’t be discouraged or give up hope when we meet failure. Failure is always on our way to success, yet we have to overcome that difficulty to achieve our goal. Jay Chou is a good example. Everyone knows the singer Jay Chou now, but only a few years ago, he was just an ordinary musician who wrote songs for other singers. His music wasn’t accepted at first because it was regarded as “wierd (weird)”. Jay, however, didn’t give up. He continued with his music until success finally knocked at the door. Stephen Chou (Zhou Xingchi) is another persistant (persistent) man not discouraged by failure. Before he became a world figure, he could only play small parts in films. What’s more, his acting skills weren’t recognized by his fellow actors. The many  times of failure and the (difficulties he faced were unbelievable. Stephen, however, didnt give up. He held on to his dreams until the days of glory finally arrived. Failures are unavoidable if we are to succeed. We should be adamant enough as not to be discouraged, persistant (persistent) enough as not to give up and diligent enough to overcome the barriers of failure. If we can do that, we will find that success will light our way.

卢亦岑 辽宁省沈阳市东北育才学校   Today, more and more students choose to go to universities after their (they) graduate from high school. The motive varies from individual to individual. Meanwhile, there are also a number of people argue that for juveniles, taking correspondence courses or going to evening classes and open universities in their spare time would be a better choice, since these students, who are new-comers of the society, can learn much more outside the classroom. To determine which is more desirable, we should look into further details. It is a simple yet universial (universal) law that for adolescents, study is a never-changed thing to do. Consequently, students may never take the pain to ponder: why I go to school? When answering the question why they go to universities, they may say, “to learn more academic knowledges (knowledge), to made new friends, to look for a higher-paid (well-paid) job and so on.” Universities, nevertheless, have the ability to offer young peoples (people) who are of an age a large platform, which let them to meet, to compete, and to learn from each other. The impact that universities have had on our society in general, is undeniable. Lots of people when reminded (recalling) of the old days in university, would say, that four years are golden, since (for) it provided them lots of opportunities. Though painstaking and time-consuming in many people’s eye, the function that university as a refinery of the young is highly valued and of essence. On the contrary, evening classes and so on, would stand in a lower position for its lack of communications. Say, students come from a single (the same) city, not even a country. Unlike the exotic faces in a university , students of a (an) evening class are not at all diversified. In addition, it is no doubt that in a broad sense, no one can garantee (guarantee) that those student (students) will be under a condition of “learning” during the free time of a part time (parttime) class. Will all of them, our future elites, go to work or read books in libraries? Hardly. Gone are the days when knowledge is highly valued. It is a time now, when technology is accumulated by multiplying, and at the same time becomes more and more entertaining. Internet, TV, … all kinds of things will lead to a consequence that students’ concentration be distracted. As a result, the detriments of evening class will overweigh its benifits (benefits). When the issue comes to my current situation, I will definetly (definitely) choose go to universities without any hesitate (hesitation). However, part-time classes would be a better choice under only one circumstance. It only benefits people who have high self-control, who are virtually minority in quantity.
